Job DescriptionIn the role of an Infrastructure Estimator, the colleague is responsible to scope, size and provide a formal written estimate of project work inclusive of divisional labor, hardware, software and vendor quotes or statements of work supporting technical infrastructure projects. Estimators work multiple projects requests simultaneously and often under strict deadlines. Estimation is limited to the material and labor to support infrastructure build-outs (non-development). Estimates span a diverse set of technical areas and support a wide array of business applications and functions across the enterprise. Primary responsibilities include;- Engaging with project requestors, project teams, technical functional leaders and subject matter experts to capture, refine and document infrastructure requirements inclusive of material, internal and external labor elements- Conducting intake meetings and communicating with requestors to ensure that infrastructure needs are properly scoped for estimation- Triage and evaluation of inbound estimate requests and producing infrastructure estimation deliverables that incorporate both standard catalog-based components and custom inputs, quotes, and other supporting material- Managing assigned work queues to Service Level Agreement (SLA) due dates and committed delivery dates; properly coding estimation documents to ensure reporting and data mining accuracy- Monitoring and disposition of a team mailbox and disposition of inbound requests on a rotating schedule, if applicable - Creation of daily reports and coordination of daily team meetings for assignments and work queue management on a rotating schedule- Collaboration, mentoring and cross-training with other estimators- Participation and contribution to process improvement, creation and maintenance of estimation jobs aids and ensuring catalog currencyRequired Qualifications- 3+ years in a technical / computer-related field- Working knowledge or experience with technical infrastructure; computers, networks, databasesPreferred Qualifications-Ability to work within deadlines and manage multiple work-streams simultaneously- Solid language and communications skills required- Technically conversant and understanding of base technology infrastructure concepts- Project costing or estimation and/or management a plusEducationHigh school Diploma/GED required.
